Alf’s UK Airfields Volume 13 refreshes under-detailed small airfields with more accurate layouts, buildings, and local features, created from Google Earth and airport guides for Flight Simulator X. The package covers Brimpton (Wasing Lower Farm) X2BM plus Enstone EGTN and Wickenby EGNW, adding realistic circuits, obstacles, and on-field detail.

One grass runway 07/25.
All approaches to be made from the north. Flying south of the airfield below 2,400ft is prohibited.
Circuits at 800ft QFE, LH on 07, RH on 25.
Warning: Line of trees on 25 approach to right of the threshold.
Gravel quarry to NW of airfield.
Brimpton Radio 135.125 (painted on roof of main hangar).

INFORMATION FOR FLIGHT SIMULATION ONLY

Note: This is designed to fit FSX generic scenery and will probably not match photo-realistic scenery. 'Tree' objects also suited to Spring/Summer rather than Autumn/Winter.

This scenery was done at the request of Steve Amey to whom I am indebted for photos and comments. Thanks Steve. Brimpton is home to a splendid airworthy example of a Provost T1 which is parked inside the large hangar.

To Install:

I have used some custom-made objects so my previous methods up to vol.10 won't do. Most of you probably use the following method anyway but in case not, unzip files to a temporary folder if not already unzipped. Copy the file Brimpton_X2BM into the Addon Scenery folder.
Now, in FSX working screen, press to reveal top menu bar. Select 'World' then 'Scenery Library'.
Click on 'Add an Area', click 'Addon Scenery', click file required (in this case Brimpton_X2BM) then click 'OK'.
The chosen file should now be at top of list. Use Move Down button to put it below 'Addon Scenery' and also below 'Static Objects Library' if you happen to have it installed. Now click 'OK' to install the new data base and when FSX window re-opens, hopefully you should see the new scenery.

Remove from scenery list and delete file to uninstall.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D scenery

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place scenery in Addon Scenery

    Create a folder under FSX\Addon Scenery\ containing scenery and texture sub-folders.

  3. Activate in Scenery Library

    In FSX, go to Settings → Scenery Library → Add Area. Higher priority means it overrides lower entries for the same location.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
