FSX Norwood Memorial Airpord Scenery

Scenery Norwood Memorial Airpord (KOWD), Massachusetts (MA). This is an update of the Norwood Memorial Airport (KOWD) designed by the author a year and a half ago for FS2004. This file will make it compatible with FSX. The original scenery is required (KOWD_V1.ZIP). By John B. Loney, Jr.

This scenery is an airport I designed for FS9 a year and a half ago. So, I did some modifications on the humans and excluded the default buildings because the fs9 exclude files did not cover the area.

I had to add a new hangar since the original one did not display properly. To see this new hangar, you'll need to download the Pellston scenery, kpln_fs9.zip by Matthias Rauh.

There is a file in the PLN_lib scenery folder named hangars_lib.bgl. You can just place the hangars_lib.bgl file in your objects library scenery folder and place the hangar3.bmp and hangar3_lm.bmp files from the PLN_lib texture folder in your object library texture folder.

INSTALLATION:

In order for this update to work you must have the original Norwood Memorial scenery for FS9 (kowd_v1.zip).

Download the scenery (kowd_v1.zip) and install it into FSX. Follow the instructions that come with the download.

PLEASE READ THE FS9 README FILE. YOU NEED TO INSTALL THE ORIGINAL SCENERY AS IF YOU WERE INSTALLING IT IN FS9 INCLUDING THE ADD-ON LIBRARY FILES LIKE MY SIGNS LIBRARY.

Once the scenery is installed in FSX, go to the Norwood scenery folder and remove ALL exclude files from the FS9 version. They are the following:

All 0_kowd_1.xxx, 0_kowd_2.xxx and 0_kowd_3.xxx files

They will be replaced by the following:
0_kowd_fsx_1.xxx, 0_kowd_fsx_2.xxx and 0_kowd_fsx_3_fuel.xxx files which are in the update download.

Just remember to substitute FSX for any reference to FS9 and activate the scenery FSX style.

Once this is done, unzip the file kowd_fsx_update.zip. You can install the update two ways.
1. Unzip the update file to a temporary folder and move the contents to the Norwood Memorial scenery folder. Overwrite when asked. Or.
2. Unzip the kowd_fsx_update.zip file directly to the Norwood Memorial scenery folder, overwriting if asked.

If you activated the scenery before you added the updates, you're good to go. If you did not activate the scenery prior to adding the updates, do so now.

If you should encounter low frame rates, removing (NOT DELETING), some files may help. Just move them to a place for safe keeping:
