Does Aerofly FS Global support add-ons?

Adam McEnroe
In short

Aerofly FS Global does not accept third-party add-ons. Learn which official aircraft and scenery work, why FS 4 files fail and how to restore purchases.

Aerofly FS Global does not support conventional third-party add-ons such as user-installed aircraft, scenery, airports or liveries. On iOS, iPadOS and Android, extra content must be supplied through the app’s own official downloads, purchases or subscription entitlements; desktop Aerofly FS 4 add-on files cannot simply be copied across.

What counts as an add-on in Aerofly FS Global?

Aerofly FS Global supports official app-managed content, not an open third-party add-on system. This distinction matters because “add-on” can mean either optional content supplied by the developer or a community-made package installed manually.

Content typeSupported?How it is installed
Aircraft and scenery included with the appYesInstalled, downloaded or streamed through the app
Official optional contentYesUnlocked through the app and its associated platform account
Community aircraft, airports and liveriesNoNo supported import method
Aerofly FS 4 desktop add-onsNoDesktop packages are not recognised by Global

The available aircraft, scenery coverage and paid features can vary with the platform and app release. An aircraft shown in the desktop simulator should not be assumed to be available in Global.

Can I install Aerofly FS 4 aircraft or scenery in Global?

No, Aerofly FS 4 aircraft, scenery and liveries cannot be installed in Aerofly FS Global. The mobile app does not expose the supported user-content directories and import workflow used by desktop simulators.

A mistake we see constantly is assuming that products sharing the Aerofly name can exchange files. Copying a ZIP archive into the device’s Downloads area, creating an add-on folder or renaming a desktop package will not make Global register it. A repaint also cannot be imported merely because Global includes the corresponding aircraft type.

Modifying the application package or bypassing its content controls is not a practical alternative. It can break updates, invalidate downloaded data and create account or entitlement problems. If you intend to use the desktop edition, check which aircraft Aerofly FS 4 already includes and verify that every add-on explicitly names the correct simulator.

How do I get and restore official content?

Extra content must be acquired, downloaded or restored from inside Aerofly FS Global through the account that owns the entitlement.

  1. Confirm availability: Check the aircraft and scenery options shown inside your copy of Global. Content offered for another Aerofly edition is not compatible.
  2. Use the original account: Sign in with the same platform account used to buy the app, optional content or subscription.
  3. Complete the download: Keep sufficient free storage and a stable connection. Some scenery may be streamed or cached rather than installed as a conventional scenery package.
  4. Restore the entitlement: If paid content disappears, use the app or platform’s purchase-restoration facility, then restart the simulator.
  5. Update before reinstalling: Install the latest compatible app update first. Reinstallation should be the last step because it may remove cached scenery and local settings that then need to be downloaded or configured again.

Missing aircraft usually points to an account, entitlement or incomplete-download problem. Grey, blurred or low-detail terrain is more likely to indicate a connection, streaming or cache issue; installing third-party scenery will not fix it.

Is Aerofly FS Global right for add-on users?

Choose Aerofly FS Global when you want a self-contained mobile simulator; do not choose it for a community mod ecosystem. Its controlled content model reduces manual installation and compatibility problems, but it also means you cannot add a favourite freeware airport, custom aircraft or repaint yourself.
