Download freeware Gulfstream jet add-ons for FSX, Prepar3D, X-Plane 11 and FS2004, with compatible aircraft choices and installation checks.
You can download freeware Gulfstream jet add-ons from Fly Away Simulation’s aircraft library, with complete aircraft available for FSX, Prepar3D, X-Plane 11 and FS2004. Choose a package made for your exact simulator, then confirm it includes the base model, cockpit, sounds and flight dynamics rather than only a repaint.
Which Gulfstream download should I choose?
Choose by simulator compatibility first, then compare cockpit type and included systems.
| Simulator | Gulfstream download | What is included |
|---|---|---|
| FSX and Prepar3D | Complete freeware G550 package for FSX and Prepar3D | Base model, virtual cockpit, sounds, textures and flight dynamics. |
| FSX | Detailed GIV package with a virtual cockpit | VIP cabin, animated surfaces, lighting and effects alongside the aircraft. |
| X-Plane 11 | Complete G280 model with a 2D cockpit | Aircraft model, cockpit and documentation for X-Plane 11. |
| FS2004 | Complete Gulfstream V base aircraft | A self-contained FS2004 package rather than a repaint requiring another model. |
A virtual cockpit matters if you fly from the flight deck in 3D or use head tracking. A 2D panel can still be practical, but it is a different experience. Freeware business jets may also use generic avionics rather than reproducing every real Gulfstream system, so check the description and included documentation before expecting a study-level FMS.
Will an FSX Gulfstream work in Prepar3D or MSFS?
An FSX Gulfstream may work in Prepar3D when the package explicitly supports it, but it is not a native Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 or 2024 aircraft.
The G550 above is supplied for both FSX and Prepar3D. Even then, older gauges, effects or sound components can behave differently between Prepar3D generations, so test the panel as well as the exterior model.
Do not copy an FSX package containing aircraft.cfg, .air and legacy model files into the MSFS Community folder. MSFS 2020 and 2024 require aircraft packaged for their own add-on system. X-Plane .acf aircraft are likewise incompatible with FSX, Prepar3D and MSFS. Console editions cannot manually install these desktop ZIP packages.
How do I install a Gulfstream aircraft add-on?
Install the extracted aircraft folder in the directory used by its stated simulator, following any included readme when it gives package-specific instructions.
- Extract the ZIP fully. Do not run or copy the aircraft directly from the compressed archive.
- Find the real aircraft root. For FSX, Prepar3D and FS2004, this is normally the folder containing
aircraft.cfg. For X-Plane, locate the folder containing the aircraft’s.acffile. - Copy it to the correct location. FSX and Prepar3D normally use
SimObjects\Airplanes, FS2004 uses itsAircraftfolder, and X-Plane 11 usesAircraft. Preserve the package’s internalmodel, panel, soundandtexturefolders. - Restart the simulator. Look under Gulfstream, the model designation or the manufacturer name defined by the package.
Why is the Gulfstream not appearing or working?
A missing aircraft is usually caused by the wrong package version, an extra folder level or a repaint installed without its required base model.
- Check the folder depth:
aircraft.cfgshould be inside the aircraft’s main folder, not buried in a duplicated path such asG550\G550\aircraft.cfg. - Remove aircraft-list filters: the package may be catalogued under its model number or a different manufacturer entry.
- Confirm that it is a complete aircraft: a texture-only repaint cannot load without the specified original model.
- Diagnose black instruments separately: if the exterior loads but the panel does not, the likely cause is an incompatible or missing legacy gauge rather than an installation failure.
- Match the simulator exactly: files made for FS2004, FSX, X-Plane or MSFS are not interchangeable merely because they depict the same Gulfstream model.
