Why is Aerosoft ONE not working, and how do I fix it?

Adam McEnroe
In short

Fix Aerosoft ONE launch, login, download and missing add-on problems by checking permissions, paths, storage and simulator detection.

Aerosoft ONE usually stops working because the client is outdated or blocked, its sign-in token has expired, the download cannot write to its library, or it is targeting the wrong simulator installation. Restart and update the client, sign in again, verify permissions, free space and paths, then repair the affected product.

Fix Aerosoft ONE in this order

  1. Close the client completely. Check that no Aerosoft ONE process remains open, then restart the computer. This clears locked files and unfinished updater processes.
  2. Update the application. Use its built-in update option if it opens. If it does not, install a fresh copy of the official Aerosoft ONE installer over the existing client.
  3. Refresh your account session. Sign out and back in using the account that owns or has registered the product. A different email address is a common reason for an empty library.
  4. Check both drives for free space. The add-on drive needs room for the installed files, while the Windows system drive may also need temporary extraction space.
  5. Verify the library and simulator paths. Reconnect any external drive and make sure Aerosoft ONE is pointed at the installed simulator edition, not an old or removed copy.
  6. Test security restrictions. Temporarily check whether antivirus protection, ransomware protection or a firewall is blocking the client. Add a narrow exception for the trusted application or library rather than disabling protection permanently.
  7. Repair the individual product. If the client works but one add-on does not, use the product's repair, verify or reinstall function instead of reinstalling everything.

If this is your first installation, our Aerosoft ONE setup and library guide explains the normal account, product and installation workflow.

Why won't Aerosoft ONE open or sign in?

If Aerosoft ONE will not launch, test it once with administrator rights. If that works, the underlying problem is usually write access to the application, update or library folder. Correct the folder permissions or choose a user-writable library; running the client permanently as administrator should not be the default fix.

An incorrect Windows date or time can invalidate secure sign-in requests. Also test without a VPN, proxy or restrictive network filter. If the login fails suddenly despite correct credentials and ordinary internet access works, a temporary Aerosoft service problem is possible; repeated password resets will not fix that.

When the installer itself reports a Windows Installer or InstallShield error, treat that separately from an Aerosoft account problem. Our instructions for repairing Error 1607 and Windows installer permissions cover the relevant service, temporary-folder and administrator checks.

Why does an Aerosoft ONE download or installation fail?

A failed installation usually means the client cannot download, extract or write the package. Check free space on the destination and system drives, confirm that an external library drive has retained the same drive letter, and avoid a disconnected network location.

Do not delete random folders from AppData or remove partial packages while Aerosoft ONE is running. Cancel the task, close the client, reopen it and use its own repair or uninstall control. If only one product fails, reinstall that product before replacing the whole client.

Protected simulator directories can also cause access-denied errors. Running the client as administrator once is a useful diagnostic, but a writable add-on library is the cleaner long-term answer where Aerosoft ONE allows one. If security software quarantined a file, restore it only after confirming it belongs to the signed Aerosoft package.

Why is the Aerosoft add-on missing from the simulator?

An installation can complete successfully while writing to the wrong simulator or inactive package folder. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 use separate installations, and different Prepar3D generations should not be treated as interchangeable.

  • Launch the intended simulator once so that it creates its configuration and package paths, then close it before repairing the add-on.
  • Confirm Aerosoft ONE has detected the edition you actually run, including the correct platform installation where more than one exists.
  • Check whether moving or renaming the Aerosoft library broke a package link or registration.
  • Verify that required base products or dependencies are installed and enabled.
  • Remove duplicate manual copies; two versions of the same package can conflict rather than provide a fallback.

For aircraft, follow our missing add-on aircraft path and package checks. MSFS 2024 scenery users should also verify the active package location using our MSFS 2024 scenery folder guidance.

Should I reinstall Aerosoft ONE?

Reinstall the client only when it still will not launch, update or retain a valid login after the earlier checks. Reinstalling Aerosoft ONE and reinstalling every managed add-on are different operations; removing the client should not be used as an excuse to erase a working content library.

  1. Record the configured paths and note which products are installed.
  2. Remove the Aerosoft ONE application through Windows, then restart the computer.
  3. Install a fresh official copy and sign in with the account that owns the products.
  4. Restore or reselect the existing library if the client supports it, rather than downloading everything immediately.
  5. Test one affected product before reinstalling the rest.

If the problem remains, provide Aerosoft support with the exact error text, client and Windows versions, simulator edition, installation paths and the relevant client log. Do not include a password, product key or payment details in screenshots or log excerpts.
