How do I configure dual jetways in GSX Pro?

Ian Stephens
In short

Configure dual jetways in GSX Pro for MSFS: map aircraft doors, manage replacement scenery, align the stand and fix connection failures.

In GSX Pro for Microsoft Flight Simulator, dual jetways work only at a stand whose scenery contains two independently animated bridges. Exclude custom-airport jetways from GSX replacement where necessary, configure both left passenger doors in the aircraft profile, park on the correct stop line, then issue one jetway connection command.

What does GSX Pro need for dual jetways?

GSX Pro cannot turn a single-jetway stand into a dual-jetway stand. The airport scenery must already define two working jetways linked to the same parking position; GSX can replace their models and coordinate services, but it does not create the missing bridge or animation data.

  • Two animated bridges: a static jetway model does not count, even if it looks usable.
  • Correct scenery links: both bridges must be associated with the selected stand in the airport data.
  • Reachable aircraft doors: the bridges must physically reach two doors without exceeding their movement limits.
  • Accurate profiles: the GSX aircraft profile needs both passenger doors mapped, while the airport profile should place the aircraft at a suitable stopping point.

How do I set up two jetways in GSX Pro?

  1. Confirm that the stand supports two working bridges. Load the airport and inspect the gate before changing GSX. If the second structure never moves, it may be decorative or incorrectly defined by the scenery.
  2. Resolve jetway replacement conflicts. Use GSX replacement models at default airports where appropriate. If a third-party airport supplies custom jetways, exclude that airport from replacement unless its documentation or profile specifically requires GSX models. Our explanation of GSX replacement settings and multi-jetway requirements covers that distinction in detail.
  3. Configure the aircraft doors. Open the GSX aircraft customisation editor and verify the position and type of each intended boarding door, normally the forward-left door and a second left-side passenger door. Do not mark a cargo or service door as a passenger entrance merely to make another bridge appear usable.
  4. Use the correct GSX profile. A suitable airport profile can adjust the stopping position, while an aircraft profile supplies accurate door coordinates and service points. Check our guide to installing airport and aircraft GSX profiles if you obtained a profile with the scenery or aircraft.
  5. Park at the intended stop. Follow the stand guidance or use GSX repositioning. Being even a few metres too far forward, aft or off the centreline can leave one bridge outside its permitted reach.
  6. Send one connection command. Operate the jetways through the GSX menu or the method required by that airport. Do not alternate between GSX and the simulator's ATC jetway request, because the second command may act as a toggle and retract bridges that have already connected.
  7. Begin boarding or deboarding after connection. GSX can direct passengers through recognised passenger doors, but both the bridge and its associated door must be available in the scenery-aircraft combination.

Why does only one GSX jetway connect?

One connected bridge usually points to scenery geometry, parking position or profile data rather than a missing dual-jetway option.

Can GSX Pro add a second jetway to a gate?

No. GSX Pro's replacement system changes supported jetway models attached to existing airport definitions; it is not an airport scenery editor. If the stand contains only one functional bridge, use another stand or airport scenery that was built with dual jetways.

Will both jetways carry GSX passengers?

Both jetways can carry passengers when GSX recognises each bridge and both associated doors are enabled as passenger exits. Two visually connected bridges do not guarantee two passenger streams: an inaccurate aircraft profile, unsupported door logic or faulty scenery links can still restrict boarding to one door.

Wide-body gates also differ by aircraft. A pair arranged for two main-deck doors may not suit an aircraft whose second entrance is farther aft, while an upper-deck bridge requires scenery and an aircraft profile designed for that door height. Choose the stand for the aircraft geometry rather than assuming every dual-jetway gate is interchangeable.
