Where can I download a Boeing 747-200 for X-Plane 11?

In short

Find a genuine Boeing 747-200 add-on for X-Plane 11, compare payware and freeware choices, avoid AI-only packs, and install it correctly.

For a genuine, flyable Boeing 747-200 in X-Plane 11, look for the payware Felis 747-200 Classic from an authorised retailer; our library does not host that package. Our available 747 downloads are AI aircraft representing later variants, so they are not substitutes for a cockpit-equipped 747-200.

Where can I get a flyable 747-200 for X-Plane 11?

The established choice is the Felis Boeing 747-200 Classic, a commercial aircraft add-on with a modelled cockpit and custom systems. Obtain it only through an authorised seller that explicitly supplies an X-Plane 11 build; unofficial repacks can omit required plugins and may breach the product licence.

Check the supported simulator version before purchasing. An X-Plane 12 update or product page does not automatically mean the supplied aircraft remains compatible with X-Plane 11.

Is there a free Boeing 747-200 download?

We do not have a verified freeware 747-200 for X-Plane 11 with a usable cockpit and representative systems. A mistake we see constantly is treating every download labelled “747” as the same aircraft.

The -200, -400 and -8 differ in cockpit technology, engines, fuselage details and handling. Our guide to identifying the 747-200, -400 and -8 explains the visible and technical differences.

Can I fly the free AI 747 packs?

AI packages are intended to populate X-Plane traffic, not provide a complete player aircraft. Even if an AI model appears in the aircraft selector, it may have no functional 3D cockpit, simplified flight behaviour and few or no working systems.

Choose an AI pack when you want later 747 variants moving around airports or appearing in traffic. Choose the Felis aircraft when you specifically want to operate a classic 747-200 from the flight deck.

How do I install the 747-200 in X-Plane 11?

  1. Read the included instructions. Commercial packages may use an installer, activation process or updater that should take precedence over generic installation steps.
  2. Extract the download fully. Do not run the aircraft from inside its ZIP or other compressed archive.
  3. Locate the aircraft folder. The correct folder contains the aircraft’s *.acf file and its supporting folders.
  4. Place it under Aircraft. A typical structure is X-Plane 11/Aircraft/<747-200 folder>/<aircraft>.acf.
  5. Keep bundled files together. Do not move aircraft-specific plugins into Resources/plugins unless the supplied manual expressly tells you to do so.
  6. Start X-Plane 11 and select the aircraft. Complete any legitimate activation prompt using the instructions supplied with the purchase.

Why does the 747-200 not appear in X-Plane 11?

A missing aircraft usually means X-Plane cannot find its *.acf file or the installed package targets a different simulator version.

  • Open the installed folder and check for an extra nested directory created during extraction.
  • Confirm that the product includes an X-Plane 11 aircraft file rather than only an X-Plane 12 build.
  • Extract the archive again if folders or files appear to be missing.
  • Keep the complete aircraft inside X-Plane 11/Aircraft, not inside Custom Scenery or the global plugins folder.

Why are the cockpit systems or displays not working?

Missing displays and unresponsive systems commonly indicate that the aircraft’s custom plugin failed to load. Close X-Plane, inspect Log.txt in the simulator’s main folder for messages naming the aircraft or plugin, then check the package instructions for operating-system permissions and required components.

Do not repair this by scattering plugin files around the X-Plane installation. Preserve the package’s original folder structure, remove duplicate copies of the aircraft and reinstall from the authorised download if files are damaged.
