Which FSX Boeing 767 download should I choose?

Complete aircraft means the files needed to make the aeroplane appear and fly are included. It does not necessarily mean a study-level flight-management computer, custom virtual cockpit or deeply simulated systems. Check the description for those features before downloading.
Is the download a complete aircraft or only a repaint?
A complete FSX aircraft normally includes aircraft.cfg, an AIR file and folders for the model, panel, sound and textures. A repaint usually supplies only a texture folder and requires one exact base model.
This distinction matters particularly with the 767. A texture made for one developer's 767-300ER will not automatically fit another 767-300ER, and engine or winglet variations may use different model files. Look for wording such as base model included, complete aircraft or full package if you do not already own the required model.
How do I install a Boeing 767 in FSX?
Install a complete FSX 767 by extracting the archive and copying its actual aircraft folder into SimObjects\Airplanes.
- Extract the archive first. Do not copy the ZIP file itself into FSX.
- Find the real aircraft folder. It should contain
aircraft.cfgdirectly inside it, usually alongside model, panel, sound and texture folders. Avoid copying an extra outer download folder. - Copy that folder into FSX. Place it under
SimObjects\Airplanesin the FSX installation you actually use. Boxed FSX and Steam Edition have different root locations, but use the same relative aircraft folder. - Handle supporting files carefully. If the readme supplies Effects or Gauges files, merge their contents into the matching FSX folders. Never replace an entire stock folder, and back up files before accepting an overwrite.
- Restart FSX and check the aircraft selector. Clear restrictive manufacturer or publisher filters and enable Show all variations if the expected livery is hidden.
Will an FSX Boeing 767 work in Steam Edition?
Most native FSX aircraft packages also work in FSX: Steam Edition when installed manually into Steam Edition's own SimObjects\Airplanes directory. Older automatic installers may target the boxed FSX location, so verify the destination rather than accepting it blindly.
The aircraft model may work while an older custom gauge does not. Blank instruments usually point to a missing gauge file, an unaccepted gauge trust prompt or an obsolete dependency—not a missing external aircraft model.
Why does the Boeing 767 not appear or work?
A Boeing 767 that does not appear in FSX is usually installed one folder too deep or is only a repaint without its required base aircraft.
- No aircraft in the menu: confirm that
aircraft.cfgsits inside the 767 folder immediately belowSimObjects\Airplanes. - Only one livery appears: enable Show all variations and remove manufacturer, publisher or aircraft-type filters.
- Grey, black or missing textures: install the exact base model and engine variant named by the repaint documentation.
- Blank cockpit instruments: check the package readme for supplied gauges and any trust prompt shown when FSX starts.
- No virtual cockpit: some freeware 767 packages provide a detailed exterior with a 2D or aliased panel. A separate panel download cannot create a complete aircraft or add a true virtual cockpit by itself.
- FSX crashes after installation: remove the new aircraft folder and any newly copied supporting files, then reinstall from a clean extraction while following the included documentation.
