What Trainz content can you download free?

How should you download Trainz safely?
The safe method is to obtain the selected Trainz edition through its publisher or an authorised retailer, then associate it with the required account.
- Identify the edition. Confirm that the listing is for a Windows desktop version, not a mobile app, add-on or subscription feature.
- Read the licence terms. Check whether payment buys a perpetual licence or access that ends with a subscription.

Trainz normally keeps its content database and user data separately from the program files. Copying only the application folder to another PC will not necessarily move installed routes, dependencies or settings.
