- F-15C ownership: Some builds require F-15C assets from a Flaming Cliffs package or a separately owned F-15C product. The free DCS World installation alone may not be enough.
- A compatible DCS build: User aircraft can stop loading after simulator updates because the underlying APIs or borrowed systems have changed.
- The correct mod release: Avoid combining files from different versions. A cockpit, aircraft model and systems package intended for separate releases may not work together.

How do I install an F-22 mod in DCS World?
Install the aircraft in the active DCS Saved Games folder, not the simulator's protected core directory, unless its documentation explicitly says otherwise.
- Check the dependency. Confirm that your release needs F-15C or any other prerequisite before copying files.
- Close DCS World. This prevents files from being held open and ensures the aircraft database is rebuilt on the next launch.
- Extract the aircraft folder. The usual destination is

Will an F-22 mod work in multiplayer?
An F-22 mod works online only when the server permits it and the necessary installations are compatible. Servers built around official aircraft often exclude user-made jets for stability, integrity-check or mission-balance reasons.
For a mission containing the mod, the server and participating pilots will normally need compatible files. Other clients may also need the aircraft package to display it correctly. Matching only the folder name is not enough if the internal versions differ.
Is the DCS F-22 mod realistic?
No community F-22 can provide a fully validated simulation of the operational aircraft. Its sensor fusion, electronic warfare, low-observable behaviour, datalinks and substantial portions of its performance remain classified, so developers must use public information, approximations and systems borrowed from other DCS aircraft.
Choose the mod when flying an F-22-shaped aircraft and experimenting with a community interpretation matter most. Choose an official full-fidelity fighter when authentic cockpit procedures, documented avionics, multiplayer compatibility and long-term support are the priority.
