Which aircraft are in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020?
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 includes 20 launch aircraft in Standard, 25 in Deluxe and 30 in Premium Deluxe. The free Game of the Year and 40th Anniversary updates added 17 aircraft to every edition, bringing the official totals to 37, 42 and 47 respectively. Optional Marketplace and third-party aircraft are not included.
Which aircraft come with each MSFS 2020 edition?
Standard contains the base fleet, Deluxe adds five aircraft, and Premium Deluxe adds another five on top of the Deluxe package.

Microsoft's advertised totals count separately named aircraft such as the Cessna 152 Aerobat as distinct models. Liveries and minor subvariants within one aircraft package do not increase the count.

Are the F/A-18E and Darkstar both included?
The F/A-18E Super Hornet is included in the shared Game of the Year fleet, but the fictional Darkstar is not part of the 37-aircraft Standard total. Darkstar was distributed through the optional Top Gun: Maverick expansion and requires a separate in-simulator download where that package remains available.

Why is an included aircraft missing?
A missing aircraft usually means its content package is uninstalled, outdated or not being recognised under the correct edition entitlement.
- Finish every simulator update. Restart Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 after the updater has completed; core updates and aircraft packages can install separately.
- Check
Profile > Content Manager. Search for the aircraft or its manufacturer, then install or update any package marked as available. - Verify the edition entitlement. Deluxe and Premium Deluxe aircraft only appear when the simulator recognises the account and platform associated with that edition. Xbox users should also check the console's Manage game and add-ons screen.
- Reset aircraft-selection filters. Clear searches and category filters, especially when looking for helicopters, gliders or historical aircraft.
- Test without Community add-ons on PC. If the selector is still incomplete or unstable, temporarily move Community-folder packages elsewhere and relaunch the simulator. An outdated aircraft or avionics mod can interfere with the menu or an official model.
Can you add more aircraft to MSFS 2020?
Yes. Aircraft installed from the Marketplace or Community folder expand the fleet but do not count as edition aircraft. Our MSFS aircraft and freeware mod library separates downloadable additions from the stock fleet.
PC users can follow our add-on aircraft installation instructions. Xbox installations cannot use Community-folder packages and are limited to compatible content delivered through the in-simulator Marketplace.
