Where was Boeing founded?
Boeing was founded in Seattle, Washington, on 15 July 1916. It began as Pacific Aero Products Company and adopted the Boeing Airplane Company name in 1917.

Is Boeing still based in Seattle?
Boeing is no longer headquartered in Seattle, but the Seattle region remains central to its identity and aircraft production. The corporate headquarters moved from Seattle to Chicago in 2001 and then to Arlington, Virginia, in 2022.
Major Boeing facilities remain around Puget Sound, including Renton and Everett. Boeing Field in Seattle also preserves the company’s close historical association with the area.

Boeing aircraft undergo final assembly mainly in the United States, although components come from suppliers around the world. The assembly location depends on the aircraft programme.

Is Boeing European like Airbus?

Aircraft registration and airline ownership are separate again. A Boeing carrying a foreign registration identifies where that individual aircraft is registered, not where the Boeing company originated.
