Approach coverage

Baxter County’s three instrument approaches serve both ends of its sole runway, so the chart set is not concentrated on one arrival direction. The mix of ILS, localiser and RNAV (GPS) coverage provides both ground-based and satellite-guided procedures. With only one 5,000-ft runway, however, there is no alternative runway alignment.

Local chart context

Boone County has slightly broader procedure coverage, while Marion County Regional is similar in scope. Searcy County has a smaller set, and Mountain View Wilcox Memorial Field and Horseshoe Bend are thinner still. The Kansas City and St Louis sectional charts add the wider VFR context around Mountain Home that the terminal procedures do not show.
