At Elkins/Randolph County, three RNAV (GPS) approaches serve two of the four runway ends. Instrument access is therefore concentrated on selected directions rather than distributed across both ends of both runways. The set also includes an obstacle departure procedure, giving departures dedicated procedure coverage despite the compact collection.
The two asphalt runways are almost identical in length: 05/23 at 4,501 ft and 14/32 at 4,544 ft. Their 43 ft difference means neither alignment provides a meaningfully longer strip. North Central West Virginia matches KEKN’s seven-chart coverage and Grant County has eight, while the other nearby fields have thinner sets. The Cincinnati and Washington sectionals add broader VFR context beyond the airport-specific instrument procedures.
