Fort Smith Regional has published approaches to three of its four runway ends, leaving one end without a procedure of its own. The combination of ILS, RNAV (GPS), VOR and localiser procedures provides several forms of instrument guidance rather than reliance on a single approach type. Its 9,318 ft runway offers substantially more landing and take-off distance than the 5,001 ft cross-runway, which provides a second alignment with less available length.
Among the listed nearby fields, Drake Field has the broadest procedure set, although it remains notably thinner than Fort Smith’s. Sallisaw Municipal, Robert S Kerr, Ozark/Franklin County and Stigler Regional have only small chart collections by comparison. The Memphis Sectional adds the wider visual-navigation context not shown by the airport diagram and terminal procedures.
