Atkinson Municipal’s four RNAV (GPS) approaches serve all four runway ends, giving balanced instrument coverage across both alignments rather than concentrating procedures on a single direction. No other approach type is represented. Runway 17/35 provides 2,100 ft more length than 04/22, making the two alignments materially different in available landing and take-off distance.
Joplin Regional has the broadest nearby procedure set, with more than twice Atkinson Municipal’s chart total. Lamar and Nevada Municipal have slightly thinner coverage, while Fort Scott and Miami Regional have half as many published charts. The Kansas City Sectional adds the wider visual-navigation context around Pittsburg that the airport’s instrument procedures do not provide.
