Grant County combines four runway alignments with instrument procedures concentrated on just two of their eight ends. The approaches offer RNAV (GPS), VOR and localiser guidance, providing more than one guidance method but leaving six runway ends without a published approach. Only 08/26 combines an asphalt surface with 6,803 ft of length; aircraft requiring pavement are therefore confined to that alignment, while the three dirt strips are all shorter than 5,500 ft.
Deming Municipal has nearly the same volume of published chart coverage, with seven charts against Grant County’s eight. Truth or Consequences Municipal and Greenlee County have markedly thinner sets, at four and three respectively. The Albuquerque Sectional adds broader visual-planning context around Silver City beyond the airport diagram and terminal procedures.

The field elevation is 5,445 ft. At that height the air is thin enough to matter: take-off and landing distances are longer than the same aircraft would need at sea level, and the effect worsens as temperature rises. The approach charts carry the altitudes that apply.
No — Grant County has no control tower. Traffic co-ordinates on a common frequency rather than with a controller, which is listed in the frequencies table on this page.
4, which is why the chart set is as large as it is — each runway end that supports an instrument approach needs its own plates. The runway diagram on this page shows the layout to scale.
