Approaches concentrated on two runway ends

King Salmon’s instrument package is strongly approach-focused. ILS, localiser, VOR and RNAV (GPS) procedures provide precision, ground-based and satellite-based options, but the coverage is concentrated on only two runway ends. The remaining ends in the three-runway configuration have no published approach. No departure or arrival procedure charts are included this cycle.

Runway scale and regional coverage

The 8,901 ft runway is more than twice the length of either shorter runway, leaving aircraft requiring more than 4,017 ft with one alignment available by length. The water runway serves a different aircraft category from the two asphalt runways. None of the listed nearby airports has comparably broad chart coverage: Egegik has the thinnest set, while the other four each have only four charts. The Kodiak Sectional supplies broader VFR context beyond the airport-specific terminal procedures.
