AFX File For KALB

Albany International Airport (KALB) gets a sharper, more functional layout with an AFX/AFCAD update tailored to the default FSX scenery. It restores missing gates C1–C3, adds jetways, improves airline parking assignments, expands cargo and GA parking, converts Air National Guard spots to military, and adds two New York State Police helipads.

Ever since I've had FSX, I've been waiting for someone to do an AFCAD for Albany International Airport (KALB). Well, it's been a year and a half and no one has done one, so I bought the great AFX program from Flight 1 and did my own.

I added gates C1, C2, and C3 which were missing completely. Also added jetways and other additional gates with correct airline assignments. Added additional cargo parking spaces, changed the parking spaces at the Air National Guard facility from GA to Military, and added two heliports to the New York State Police facility.

This file is intended for the stock KALB airport in FSX. It works with Ultimate Terrain X, Ground Environment X, and World of AI traffic.

This is my first effort so be kind.

I'll be working on additional regional airports in the northeast, starting with Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo and uploading them when they're done.

INSTALLATION:

  1. Simply extract the AFX_KALB_JC.bgl file to your Addon Scenery/Scenery folder.
  2. ENJOY!

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
