Fix MSFS 2024 EFB charts not loading by checking airport coverage, online services, account sign-in and aircraft-specific Navigraph access.
Charts in the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 EFB may be unavailable because the selected airport lacks coverage, online services or account authentication have failed, or you are using an aircraft-specific tablet that needs separate chart-provider authorisation. First select a known airport, confirm online functionality, then identify the EFB and chart source.
Why does the EFB say charts are unavailable?
The message usually means that the requested chart is absent from the active source; it does not by itself mean the EFB installation is corrupt.

How do I get MSFS 2024 EFB charts to load?
Most chart-loading failures are resolved by identifying the EFB, selecting an airport and then restoring online authentication.
- Identify the display. Determine whether you are using the universal MSFS 2024 EFB or a tablet modelled by the aircraft developer. Settings changed in one may have no effect on the other.
- Select an airport explicitly. Load an origin or destination through the flight plan, or search for the airport inside the EFB. Chart pages are airport-dependent and may remain empty without an active airport context.
- Test another airport. Choose a large international airport with instrument procedures. If charts appear there, the original airport or procedure lacks coverage; reinstalling the simulator will not add it.
- Restore online services. Confirm the simulator is connected, Online Functionality is enabled and the Microsoft account session is valid. If maps, weather and other online EFB data are also blank, follow our checks for a blank or unresponsive universal EFB.
- Reload the EFB context. Close and reopen the EFB, reload the flight and, if necessary, fully restart Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This refreshes a failed account or data session without disturbing the installation.
- Isolate add-on conflicts on PC. Temporarily move EFB, interface and aircraft modifications out of the
Communityfolder, then test a stock aircraft. On consoles, check for simulator and aircraft updates and perform a full restart instead.
If charts fail at several well-covered airports in stock aircraft while other online data is also unavailable, the problem may be service-side. Repeatedly reinstalling packages is unlikely to help; restore the account and network connection first, then retry after the online service recovers.
Does every airport have an EFB chart?
No—MSFS 2024 does not guarantee that every airport, runway or procedure will have a chart in every EFB chart source.
A small airfield may have only a map position and runway information, with no published instrument plate. At a larger airport, a procedure can also be absent because it was renamed, withdrawn or differs between the simulator’s navigation data and an external chart cycle.
The moving map and flight planner may still build a route when no plate is available. For realistic IFR flying, use a current chart source supported by the selected aircraft and verify that its runway and procedure identifiers match the simulator’s navigation data. Simulator charts and maps must never be used for real-world navigation.
Why do Navigraph charts work in one EFB but not another?
Navigraph authorisation belongs to the individual aircraft integration, not to Microsoft Flight Simulator globally, so signing in on one tablet does not necessarily authorise another.
- Confirm the account has access to the chart service.
- Authorise Navigraph from inside the exact aircraft tablet being used.
- Check that the aircraft package is updated and that you loaded the intended aircraft variant.
- On PC, remove duplicate or obsolete installations of the same aircraft from the
Communityfolder.

If the stock EFB works and only an aircraft’s Navigraph panel fails, do not reinstall MSFS 2024. Reauthorise the provider and troubleshoot that aircraft package.
