FSX Man2SBuilder Utility

These small and simple to use utilities will rename image tiles downloaded from Google Earth and Microsoft Virtual Earth using the Manifold tool bar so that they can be displayed with the latest version of SBuilder X (SBUILD31.ZIP). Public Domain. By Luis Feliz-Tirado.

SBuilder X now has its own tile server, and so one no longer needs the Manifold tool bar in order to get images. The tiles obtained with the Manifold tool bar have a different naming convention from the SBuilder X tile server though, so the tiles must be renamed in order to be used.

In this package, you will find 2 different programs (as well as VisualBasic source code for each):

• GSAT2SBX.exe - for Google Satellite tiles only.
• VE2SBX.exe - for Virtual Earth Satellite and Street Map.

You copy the executables to the Manifold folder where you have the old tiles. Then you run it. It does the following:

• Creates a subfolder SBXTILES.
• If this subfolder already exists when the program starts, all files inside it are deleted!
• Then, for each file starting by "L" and with an "X" in the 3rd or 4th position in the filename and with extensions ".jpg" or ".png" as appropriate, it creates inside SBXTILES a file with the proper name.
• If you move those created files to the appropriate SBuilderX tiles folder, they will be used by SBuilder X.
