American Airlines’ Boeing 787-9 brings a modern composite-fuselage Dreamliner look to FSX with a crisp exterior model, accurate markings, and subtle reflective effects tuned for changing light. The package includes wing flex, Boeing-style autopilot behavior, correct control-surface animations, and Animated Ground Servicing with coordinated ramp vehicles and jetway activity.
This freeware package integrates the American Airlines Boeing 787-9 into Microsoft Flight Simulator X, featuring an authentic exterior model and full Animated Ground Servicing (AGS). The included composite fuselage departs from the gleaming metal finishes of earlier airliners, yet the modern materials offer weight advantages and reduced maintenance demands. Model design and textures are developed by Camil Valiquette.
The Boeing 787-9 is recognized for its extensive use of carbon-fiber composites, which lessen overall aircraft mass. This design choice improves aerodynamic performance while enhancing load distribution across the airframe. In long-haul operations, the 787-9 can cover intercontinental routes efficiently, contributing to optimized fuel consumption and reduced operational expenses.
Flight handling encompasses realistic wing flex under various aerodynamic pressures, integrated high-lift devices for short takeoff rolls, and simulated thrust management for realistic climb performance. The autopilot system reflects the genuine Boeing layout, ensuring smooth navigation tracking and altitude control throughout every route segment.
The Animated Ground Servicing (AGS) suite delivers interactive boarding bridges, baggage carts, and catering trucks that synchronize with airport operations. When parked, static ground elements appear near the aircraft, underscoring the immersive ramp experience. Meanwhile, exterior animations, such as spoilers and gear movement, align with correct Boeing trajectories.
Camil Valiquette has meticulously designed the model framework and applied the American Airlines textures. This complete freeware set includes everything necessary right out of the box for installation in Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

The fuel system seems wrong. Fuel remains at 100% while flying. Also, fuel is evenly distributed among five tanks. It is improbable that all 5 tanks are of equal size. Are there actually five tanks in a 787-9?
Why is the default set to exceed the maximum weight?
