Flight Simulator X Prepar3D

This is a simple, no-fills editor for direct editing of the fsx.cfg file. It was designed to forever put to rest the age-old question - "Where is my fsx.cfg file?" It is handy when you want to make a quick change to the fsx.cfg file and you don't know where it is, or can't be bothered looking for it. By TweakFS (Fermin Fernandez).

Features:

  • Automatically finds the FSX.CFG file.
  • Loads and displays all FSX.CFG items (except the [Trusted] section).
  • Button to open the FSX.CFG file in NotePad for manual editing.
  • FSX-style GUI skin.

Installation:

This is a stand-alone application, no installation is required. Simply extract or copy the "FSXCfgEditor.exe" to any location and run the program by double-clicking on the file. TweakFS Explorer users may want to copy it to the folder "C:\Program Files\TweakFS\TweakFS Explorer\util" and set up a "Tool Link" to the EXE from within the Explorer.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D utility
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.
  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
