The Airbus A340 is a four-engine widebody aircraft of the European aircraft manufacturer Airbus. For the long haul the South African Airways (SAA) has 8 aircraft with 253 seats for disposal. One of this aircraft, registration ZS-SXD, became a special paint of Olympic Games 2012 of London with 4 sportsman. SAA is a Member of STAR ALLIANCE.

Length 62.88 m, 16.82 m height, wingspan 60.30 m, max. Take-off weight 598.000 lbs, cruisespeed 475 mph, max. Range 7.300 nm; engines 4 x CMF56-5C4

Installation:

  • First open folder "A340-313X_GA" and copy the Folder "A340-313X_German_Airforce" in your FSX folder "SimObjects/Airplanes".
  • Copy folder "gauges" in your FSX-folder. It will be installed folder "Tom340" in folder "gauges". Thats all.
  • See also file "copyright.txt" from Thomas Ruth. You can also install folder "lighteffects". Install instruction are inside.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

    Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.

  3. Verify in FSX

    Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
