This package offers a detailed Rutaca Boeing 737-200 Advanced repaint set. It includes authentic liveries for multiple registrations and is intended for simmers who want to bring an accurate representation of Rutaca’s operations in Venezuela to their flight decks. Created by dedicated repainters using the base FAIB B737-200ADV model from Philippe Tabatchnik, this freeware add-on showcases the timeless passenger jet that has long served regional routes and cargo operations around South America.

Distinctive Rutaca Registrations

Within this package, you will find liveries for registrations YV169T, YV1381, YV369T, YV379T, YV380T, and YV390T. Each texture folder corresponds to one of Rutaca’s Boeing 737-200 Advanced airframes, reflecting their real-world paint designs. These particular aircraft are part of a fleet that has operated extensively in Venezuela, often traveling to destinations with short to medium-length runway configurations. The Advanced series of the 737-200 features upgraded engines and enhanced aerodynamics, which improves performance in various climate conditions.

Technical Highlights of the Boeing 737-200ADV

  • Upgraded JT8D Engines: The 737-200ADV variant uses Pratt & Whitney JT8D series turbofans that deliver enhanced thrust suitable for high-altitude airports.
  • Refined Performance: The wing and flap design simplify handling during takeoff and approach phases, essential for shorter regional runways.
  • Sturdy Construction: Built with higher-tolerance landing gear, ideal for frequent cycles and varying runway conditions across Venezuela and beyond.

Proper Installation Process

  1. Placement of Texture Folders: Extract and drag the appropriate texture.rutaca_xxx directories to the base model’s folder. Ensure the folders match any referenced texture entry in the fltsim.txt configurations.
  2. Config File Setup: Copy the provided [fltsim.x] entries to your aircraft.cfg. Align the numbering in ascending order, beginning from [fltsim.0] for the initial repaint and incrementing by one for each subsequent livery. Avoid gaps or repeating numbers.
  3. Route Assignments: Assign these repaints to existing flight plans or create new ones, thereby incorporating the Rutaca 737-200 fleet into your expanded AI traffic or personal flights within the simulator.

This repaint pack is freeware and does not include the base model. You must download the compatible freeware model from the Fly Away Simulation mod library developed by FAIB and Philippe Tabatchnik to ensure everything works correctly.

Requires dependencies

This add-on may require the following files to function properly. If this is a repaint, the dependency below is likely the base aircraft package.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft
  1. Extract the downloaded archive

Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.
  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.
  3. Verify in FSX

Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.
  4. Always read the included readme

Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.
