This freeware package merges the Aeromexico Boeing 747-400 (XA-AMC) livery with the original Meljet base model, refined by creators Melvin Rafi and updated for FSX by David Grindele. It integrates authentic flight handling, new 3D light effects, and various enhancements tailored for the simulator environment.

Overview

The real-world Boeing 747-400 is a four-engine, long-range commercial airliner, well-known for its spacious interior and distinctive hump on the upper deck. In this add-on, the Aeromexico repaint (registration XA-AMC) reflects the airline’s recognizable design and includes upgrades that align with modern FSX needs. The model retains the hallmark features of Melvin Rafi’s original Meljet series while integrating stability tweaks, ensuring smoother behavior during all phases of flight.

  • Refined Flight Dynamics: The air file and configuration data have been carefully adjusted to deliver consistent handling and performance in FSX.
  • Exterior Maintenance Animation: Engine cowlings open via [Shift+E], revealing the internal turbine details.

Installation Instructions

  1. Extract and place the entire “Aircraft” folder into your “.../FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes” directory.
  2. Launch FSX, select “MELJET” from the manufacturer or publisher list, and choose the 747-400 XA-AMC variant.
  3. No extra downloads are required for normal operation. However, to see the full 3D lighting effects, you will need A2A’s 3D Lights & Redux package.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D aircraft

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Copy aircraft files into SimObjects

    Place the aircraft folder inside FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\. The folder must contain an aircraft.cfg file. Effects go into FSX\Effects\; gauges go into FSX\Gauges\.

  3. Verify in FSX

    Launch FSX, go to Free Flight → Select Aircraft and find your new aircraft under its manufacturer.

  4. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

    I would appreciate it if someone could confirm if you could download the 747-400 from Aeromexico THAT YOU MENTION in FSX,... I have tried and it does not enter Flight Simulator X if there is a partner who has achieved it with some (fix) get to contact me aecf18@hotmail.com thank you greetings.
