FSX Hummelbird N2

Hummelbird N2 brings a tiny single-seat homebuilt to FSX, cruising near 100 mph on half a Volkswagen engine with lively taildragger handling. Expect an updated model with moving parts, custom panel, dynamic virtual cockpit, reflective textures, Sopwith Camel-style sound, and four paint schemes for sunny-day pleasure flights.

Hummelbird N2; SP2 / XP tested. A single-place plane that cruises close to 100 mph on half a Volkswagen engine and costs less than $2222.00 to build. Basic VC 4 paint schemes. Original model by Newton Drumond and Fernando Marques (public domain). Updated for FSX by the Nor-Cal Club.

FS2004/2002 Hummelbird N2. An Gmax aircraft with moving parts, custom panel , a dynamic virtual cockpit and reflective textures. This update includes a new VC and 4 paint schemes ; Sound Sopwith Camel . This plane is one of the best aircraft to fly, albeit with a tricky landing behavior, as it floats a lot and it doesn't like to slow down. Make it a tail dragger and you have the recipe for lots of rudder work rolling after landing. This Hummelbird is a pleasure to fly, docile, and makes for an excellent sunny day pleasure flight.

How to install this mod

FSX / P3D add-on

  1. Extract the downloaded archive

    Use 7-Zip (free) or WinRAR to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder. Don't install while still zipped — the simulator can't read inside ZIP files.

  2. Place files per the readme

    Most FSX add-ons go into one of: SimObjects\Airplanes\, Addon Scenery\, Effects\, or Gauges\.

  3. Always read the included readme

    Every mod ships with a readme.txt or README file. It tells you exactly where files go, what dependencies are needed, and any quirks specific to this add-on.

An intriguing, albeit unpretentious, little bird in real-life and amusing on FSX… regrettably after several attempts I’m unable to get the GPS to load which makes anything other than around-the-patch flying a lost cause -- an accomplished geek might be able to resuscitate it, but for mere humans the total package remains unreachable.. -- LB
