FSX Crete Island

Crete Island, Greece, v2. Crete is the biggest island of the Greek archipelago. Included in the scenery are 78 population centers and five airports. By Toni Agramont. (Previous version had 1601 downloads).

In my first version I commented:

This stand-alone scenery is an adaptation for fsx of the previous one that I made for for fs2004. In the standard fsx scenery, there are even less towns and the airports are less interesting than those in fs2004. Microsoft has probably made one of their worst scenarios for the island of Crete. If you observe the coasts in detail, you will see that they are made of large rectangular blocks that cover the surface of the island, without any realism. I was not happy with the results I obtained, but still designed Crete at the request of several simmers.

Second version:

In this second version, I decided to use the mesh terrain made by Yiannis Dermitzakis, which offers much more accurate and realistic coastlines. This put me in the obligation of rebuilding the entirety of the coastal populated areas (which is to say, most of the island!), since with the new accurate coastline they were located either inland, or worse inside the sea! At the same time I was able to redraw the populated areas with realistic houses and real facilities, which was made much easier with Google Earth. I also had the collaboration of Roger Politis, who knows that land very well. I believe that I have achieved quite a realistic scenery, especially as far as the coastal towns and villages are concerned.

INSTALLATION:

In ADDON SCENERY

Create a directory named Crete and two subfolders Scenery and Texture.

Example ADDON SCENERY CRETE Scenery Texture.

Install in scenery the zip scenery and in texture the zip texture.

and then Register in the FSX scenery library, in the world menu.
