Posted on Thu, 01 Sep 2011 23:00:00 GMT

NevadaJim Dhaenens would like to announce the release of his latest scenery: Naval Air Station, Fallon, Nevada.  NAS Fallon is the epicenter of the U.S. Navy's Air Warfare tactics development and training. In 1995, The navy's fighter weapons school TOPGUN, moved to Fallon along with its EW counterpart TOPDOME.

Vertical assault is also mentored at Fallon, and the Longhorns, NAS fallon's SAR contingent round out the rotary wing contingents. The Desert Outlaws, a Maintenance Detatchment from NAS Lemoore maintains their squadrons' aircraft out of the maintenance hangars. The Fallon Range Training complex supports strike warfare with four bombing ranges, an EW range to simulate SAED runs, and train the Topdome folks, and TACTS instrumentation is spread out around hundreds of square miles that is designated a Supersonic Operating Area.

Jim has included the Gmax source files for the range targets so mission developers who may want to do some missions with exploding targets have the base model already.
