How do I install a ground services plugin?
Install native plugins under X-Plane 12/Resources/plugins/, while FlyWithLua-based services place their script files under X-Plane 12/Resources/plugins/FlyWithLua/Scripts/.
- Confirm X-Plane 12 support. Use a release explicitly built or approved for X-Plane 12 and your operating system. An old X-Plane 11 binary or vehicle profile does not guarantee compatibility.
- Extract the package. Avoid leaving an extra wrapper folder between
Resources/plugins/and the plugin's actual folder. This nesting mistake is a common reason nothing appears in the Plugins menu. - Install any required framework. A FlyWithLua service needs the compatible FlyWithLua plugin as well as its individual
.luascript. Other dependencies should be listed in the package documentation. - Restart X-Plane. Load a default aircraft at a simple airport first, then check that the plugin has created its menu or control window.
- Add the aircraft profile. Copy or select the set made for the exact aircraft and variant. A profile for a standard fuselage may place stairs inside a stretched or freighter model.

How do I use ground services in the correct order?
Secure the aircraft first, complete servicing with the beacon and engines off, remove every vehicle, and call the pushback tug last.
- Park accurately. Stop on the stand centreline with enough clearance for stairs, loaders and catering trucks.
- Secure the aircraft. Set the parking brake, shut down the engines and place chocks if the aircraft or service plugin provides them.
- Select the matching profile. Open the plugin panel from its Plugins menu, floating window or script menu and choose the exact aircraft set.
- Connect ground power. Call the GPU, then use the aircraft's electrical panel or EFB to connect it. A visible GPU does not necessarily supply power by itself.
- Open the required doors. Operate doors through the aircraft's own controls. Generic service plugins often cannot determine or change a custom aircraft's door state.
- Call services individually. Bring in stairs, baggage loaders, catering and other vehicles. Avoid summoning two pieces of equipment to the same door.
- Complete loading separately when required. If the plugin is visual only, set passengers, cargo and fuel through the aircraft's loading page or X-Plane's weight interface.
- Clear the stand. Dismiss every vehicle, close doors and panels, disconnect ground power, remove chocks and confirm that the tug has an unobstructed route.

Are ground service vehicles functional or only visual?
Most generic ground-service vehicles are primarily visual, while their effect on aircraft systems depends on specific integration with that aircraft.
A baggage loader beside the hold does not prove that payload has changed. Likewise, a fuel truck may only accompany a separate loading screen, and a GPU model may not energise the electrical buses. The aircraft's own EFB or service panel is normally authoritative for fuel, payload, doors, chocks and external power.
BetterPushback is different because it physically controls the push and aircraft movement. Jetways are also separate from ordinary ramp services: the airport must contain a compatible animated jetway, and its door assignment must match the aircraft.
Why are X-Plane 12 ground services not working?
Most failures come from an incorrect installation folder, an incompatible build, the wrong aircraft profile or two ground-service systems trying to control the same task.
- No plugin menu: check for an extra nested folder, a missing script framework or an incompatible operating-system binary. Search
X-Plane 12/Log.txtfor the plugin name and loading errors. - Vehicles appear inside the aircraft: select the exact model variant or edit its service points. Save a separate set rather than overwriting a profile used by another version.
- The GPU appears but there is no power: connect external power through the aircraft's own controls. If that still fails, the vehicle is visual and the aircraft does not accept its datarefs.
- Two tugs or duplicate vehicles appear: disable the built-in, aircraft-supplied or generic service performing the same job. One tool should control each service.
- Doors and stairs do not align: open the intended door first, verify the profile and adjust the equipment position. Door coordinates often differ between passenger, cargo and stretched variants.
- Frame rate drops at the stand: reduce the number of animated vehicles and avoid running several overlapping ground-service packages.
- X-Plane crashes after installation: remove the new plugin temporarily, test with a default aircraft and airport, then restore plugins one at a time. The final lines of
