To fly the Antonov An-225 Mriya in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, install a compatible An-225 package on PC in the Community folder, restart the simulator, then select the aircraft from Free Flight. On Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5, you need a compatible Marketplace release because consoles cannot load Community-folder aircraft.

Which An-225 version should I use in MSFS 2024?

Choose a Community-folder aircraft on Windows PC if you want a downloadable add-on and accept that its cockpit or systems may be simplified. Our An-225 package and MSFS 2024 compatibility notes identify the installation requirements, dependencies and known cockpit limitations.

If you bought an An-225 through the MSFS 2020 Marketplace, check My Library while signed into the same simulator account before purchasing anything again. Use it only when the listing identifies it as compatible with MSFS 2024; do not copy encrypted Marketplace files into the Community folder.

How do I install the Antonov An-225 on PC?

  1. Download the aircraft and read its requirements. Compatibility notes matter because an MSFS 2020 aircraft is not automatically guaranteed to work correctly in MSFS 2024.
  2. Extract the archive completely. Do not place the ZIP or RAR archive itself in the Community folder.
  3. Find the actual package root. The folder copied into Community should normally contain manifest.json and layout.json directly inside it. A mistake we see constantly is a double-nested folder, with the real package buried one level too deep.
  4. Copy it into the active MSFS 2024 Community folder. Its location depends on the PC edition and installation choice, so follow our instructions for finding the active Community folder and installing aircraft. Do not put it in the Official or OneStore folder.
  5. Install any named dependencies. Missing libraries or base-aircraft packages can produce an invisible exterior, blank cockpit or an aircraft that never finishes loading. Install only dependencies specified by the aircraft author.
  6. Restart Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Search the aircraft selector for Antonov, An-225 and Mriya, as the displayed manufacturer and model can differ between packages.

For a large package that you do not want permanently stored in Community, you can manage the aircraft outside the Community folder with MSFS Addons Linker. Make sure it is configured for the active MSFS 2024 Community path rather than an older MSFS 2020 installation.

How do I set up and fly the Mriya?

Start with a light load, a large airport and a runway spawn while confirming that the model, engines and controls work. The An-225 needs far more room than an ordinary airliner, and small parking stands can leave the wings, tail or landing gear clipping into buildings.

  1. Select the An-225 in Free Flight. Use a runway or large cargo stand at an airport with ample runway length and taxiway clearance.
  2. Load conservatively. Begin with modest fuel and payload rather than maximum weight. Payload stations and centre-of-gravity behaviour depend on the add-on.
  3. Bind a general throttle axis. Six-engine aircraft may use custom logic or grouped throttles. An all-engine throttle binding is a safer starting point than separate engine-specific axes unless the package documentation says otherwise.
  4. Test the controls before departure. Check all engines, brakes, steering, flaps, spoilers and flight controls while stationary.
  5. Create the route. You can plan and send a route with the MSFS 2024 EFB, but route, fuel and payload transfer into a third-party aircraft depends on what that aircraft supports.
  6. Use the aircraft's displayed performance data. Take-off speeds change with weight, flap setting and the particular simulation. Generic An-225 speeds copied from another model are not a safe substitute.

If the downloadable version has an aliased or incomplete cockpit, cold-and-dark procedures and individual six-engine controls may not be fully modelled. Spawning on the runway with engines running is the quickest way to establish whether the aircraft itself works before troubleshooting cockpit systems.

Why is the An-225 missing or not working?

  • It does not appear in the aircraft selector: confirm that you used the MSFS 2024 Community folder, extracted the archive and removed any extra wrapper folder above manifest.json.
  • The model is invisible or the cockpit is blank: reinstall the dependencies named on the download page and check that their folders are not double-nested.
  • The loading screen hangs or the simulator crashes: remove older or duplicate An-225 packages, restart with only this aircraft and its required dependencies enabled, then install a clean copy rather than merging files over an old version.
  • Some engines ignore the throttle: remove conflicting per-engine assignments and test a single all-engine throttle axis. The add-on may use custom grouping for its six engines.
  • The aircraft worked in MSFS 2020 but fails in 2024: obtain a package specifically identified as MSFS 2024 compatible. Backward compatibility does not guarantee that every cockpit script, gauge or flight model will function unchanged.

Can I fly the An-225 on Xbox or PlayStation 5?

Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 cannot install the downloadable Community-folder An-225. On either console, search the in-simulator Marketplace and use only a release marked compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and that console.

If no compatible An-225 is offered for your platform, there is no supported way to sideload the PC package through USB storage, a console browser or cloud storage. The PC Community download and console Marketplace aircraft are separate installation routes.
