How do I install FlyByWire A32NX in MSFS 2024?

How to install the A32NX in MSFS 2024

The FlyByWire Installer is the safest installation method because it selects the package, manages updates and reduces the chance of placing files in the wrong folder.

1. Close Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Do not install or update the aircraft while the simulator is running.
2. Remove conflicting copies. If you previously copied an MSFS 2020 A32NX folder into the 2024 Community folder, move it somewhere outside the simulator before proceeding.
3. Open the FlyByWire Installer. Select the A32NX package intended for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, not the older MSFS 2020 target.
4. Check the destination. Confirm that the installer points to the active MSFS 2024 Community folder. This matters if you moved the simulator, changed its packages location or have both MSFS 2020 and 2024 installed.
5. Select the Stable build. This is the right choice for normal flying unless a documented issue specifically requires a development build.
6. Install the aircraft. Wait for the installer to finish before launching MSFS 2024.
7. Select the FlyByWire aircraft. In the aircraft selector, choose the entry carrying A32NX or FlyByWire branding rather than the simulator’s stock A320.

Which A32NX build should I choose?

Choose Stable unless you need a specific fix available only in a development or test build. Non-stable builds change more frequently and may introduce unfinished systems or new faults, so they are a poor default for routine flights.

Manual Community-folder installation

1. Download the correct archive and extract it completely; do not place the compressed archive itself in Community.
2. Find the active MSFS 2024 Community folder. Do not assume the MSFS 2020 folder or an abandoned folder from an earlier installation is correct.
3. Place the extracted add-on folder directly inside Community. Files such as manifest.json and layout.json should be inside the package’s top-level folder, not buried beneath a second identically named folder.
4. Launch MSFS 2024 and allow extra time for the first aircraft load after installation or a major update.

Can I copy my existing MSFS 2020 A32NX installation?

No. Install a fresh MSFS 2024-compatible package instead of reusing the folder installed for MSFS 2020. Copying the old aircraft can cause missing entries, non-working cockpit systems, loading failures or conflicts with files placed by the newer installer.

The same caution applies to liveries and companion modifications: add them back one at a time only after the unmodified aircraft loads correctly. Why does the A32NX not appear in MSFS 2024?

Most missing-aircraft cases come from the wrong Community folder, a nested package directory or an outdated duplicate installation.

• Verify that the installer is targeting MSFS 2024 rather than MSFS 2020.
• Check that the package folder containing manifest.json is directly inside Community.
• Remove duplicate A32NX folders and temporarily move third-party A32NX liveries or compatibility mods elsewhere.
• Reinstall the Stable build if an update was interrupted.
• Restart the simulator and search for the FlyByWire or A32NX aircraft entry, not only the stock Airbus A320.

If the aircraft appears but loads with blank displays or causes a crash, test the base A32NX without liveries or related mods. A clean load confirms whether the aircraft package or an attached add-on is responsible.

Can I install the FlyByWire A32NX on Xbox or PS5?

No. The FlyByWire Installer and Community-folder package described here require the PC edition of MSFS 2024. Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro do not provide the user-accessible Community folder needed to install this external version of the A32NX.
