How do I install the FlyByWire A380 in MSFS 2024?
Install the A380X through the official FlyByWire Installer, making certain that it is configured for MSFS 2024 rather than MSFS 2020.
- Run MSFS 2024 once: complete the simulator's initial setup so that it creates its local packages and Community folders, then close the simulator.
- Obtain the official installer: use the FlyByWire Installer supplied by the aircraft's developer and allow the installer itself to update if prompted. Avoid manually downloaded or repackaged copies.
- Select MSFS 2024: choose Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 as the target simulator. This is easy to miss when MSFS 2020 is also installed on the same PC.
- Check the packages location: let the installer detect the active MSFS 2024 Community folder. If detection fails, select that folder manually—not the MSFS 2020 Community folder, the Official folder or the simulator's main programme directory.
- Install the A380X: select the A380X build offered for MSFS 2024 and wait until the installer reports that installation has finished. Keep adequate free storage available and do not move the installed package afterwards.
- Start the simulator normally: open the aircraft selector and search for
A380orFlyByWire. The first load can take longer while the simulator processes the new package. - Add liveries afterwards: confirm that the unmodified aircraft loads correctly before installing liveries or other A380-related packages.
Use the installer for subsequent aircraft updates as well. Copying an existing MSFS 2020 installation into the 2024 Community folder can leave obsolete files or create two versions of the same package.
Why does the FlyByWire A380 not appear in MSFS 2024?
An invisible A380X usually means the installer targeted the wrong simulator or wrote to an inactive Community folder.

Do not disable security software permanently to force an installation. If folder protection blocks the installer, grant the installer access to the selected packages location and retry with the simulator closed.
Can I install the FlyByWire A380 on Xbox or PlayStation?
The installer-distributed A380X is PC-only because Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PS5 Pro do not provide user access to a Community folder. Console add-ons must use the simulator's approved in-game distribution system, so copying files from a USB drive or PC will not work.
Will older A380 aircraft and liveries work?
Use aircraft packages and liveries made specifically for the FlyByWire A380X, preferably with explicit MSFS 2024 support. An MSFS 2020 A380X livery may work, but it should be tested separately because package layouts and material definitions can change.
