  3. Start in easy conditions. Use a slow fixed-wing aircraft in daylight, clear weather and calm wind. Begin airborne if taxiing and ground turns create strong peripheral movement.
  4. Fly predictably. Hold straight and level, then introduce shallow coordinated turns. Keep the natural horizon visible and avoid rapid head movements during a bank.
  5. Keep the first sessions short. Stop while you still feel normal. Extend later sessions gradually, changing only one trigger at a time so you can identify what causes discomfort.

Early warning signs include warmth, yawning, eye strain, headache, excess saliva, sweating and difficulty concentrating. Nausea is a late signal, not the point at which to start considering a break.

What should I avoid while adapting?

Low-level flying, aerobatics and helicopters expose the eyes to rapid motion and are poor choices while building tolerance.

Should I keep playing until I get used to it?

No. Pushing through simulator sickness can intensify symptoms and make the brain associate the headset or simulator with nausea.

Stop the simulation, remove the headset if applicable, sit still and look at a fixed real-world object. Resume only after you feel completely normal; symptoms can continue building for a short period after the display is removed. Avoid driving, real-world flying or operating equipment while dizziness or visual disorientation remains.

If symptoms are severe, persist well after simulator use, occur outside simulation or include unusual balance or neurological changes, seek medical advice. Motion-sickness medicines can cause drowsiness and should not be used simply to prolong a session without advice from a qualified clinician or pharmacist.
