How should a beginner set up Infinite Flight?
A good beginner setup removes wind, traffic and aircraft complexity so that you can concentrate on controlling the aeroplane.
- Sign in and finish the initial downloads. Allow any required aircraft or scenery data to load over a stable connection before starting a flight.
- Complete the beginner lessons. Use the lessons presented in the app to learn the display, camera, throttle, flaps, brakes and tilt controls. Do these before experimenting with an airliner.
- Calibrate the device properly. Hold your phone or tablet at the angle you will use while flying, then calibrate it. Calibrating while the device is flat and subsequently holding it upright creates a false neutral position.
- Keep the default sensitivity initially. Make small adjustments only after a few flights. Very high sensitivity causes over-control, while excessively low sensitivity can make the flare and crosswind corrections difficult.
- Select the Cessna 172 in Solo mode. Choose daylight, clear visibility, calm wind and a long runway at an uncomplicated airport. Starting on the runway avoids adding engine-start and taxi procedures to the first lesson.
- Use only the essential controls. Learn pitch, roll, rudder, throttle, brakes, flaps and trim. Leave autopilot, instrument approaches and detailed flight planning until you can fly a stable circuit manually.
Touch and tilt controls are enough for learning. If you later connect a supported controller, bind pitch, roll, yaw, throttle and brakes, then check for duplicate assignments; two inputs controlling the same axis often cause unexplained throttle or control movement.
What should your first Infinite Flight flight look like?
Your first flight should be one take-off, a rectangular circuit and a full-stop landing in the Cessna 172.
- Prepare for take-off. Centre the rudder, set take-off trim, confirm the flaps are appropriate, release the parking brake and smoothly apply full power.
- Hold the runway centreline. Use small rudder inputs for steering. Roll input is not a substitute for nose-wheel steering on the ground.
- Rotate at the aircraft’s recommended speed. Use the figure provided by the aircraft information or checklist rather than copying a speed intended for a different model or weight. Raise the nose gently and establish a steady climb.
- Fly the circuit. Turn crosswind and then downwind, levelling at roughly 1,000 feet above airport elevation unless the airport procedure says otherwise. Keep the runway visible beside you.
- Configure before final. Reduce power, slow below the flap limit, add flaps progressively and turn through base onto final. Avoid steep turns close to the ground.
- Stabilise and land. Use pitch mainly to control airspeed and power to adjust the descent path. Close the throttle near the runway, raise the nose slightly for the flare, then brake gently after touchdown.

Why is the aircraft difficult to control?
Most early control problems come from calibration, large inputs or an active brake rather than from the flight model.

Do beginners need Infinite Flight Pro?
You do not need to unlock every aircraft and region before learning the controls; use the solo aircraft and locations available to your account first. Pro is the relevant option for the wider aircraft and scenery catalogue and multiplayer access, but included content and subscription entitlements can change, so check the labels shown inside the app.
Extra aircraft do not make the first lessons easier. A light piston aircraft responds slowly enough for you to recognise mistakes, whereas an airliner adds greater speed, configuration management, autopilot modes and longer stopping distances.
When should you try Infinite Flight multiplayer?
Join multiplayer only after you can taxi, take off, fly a circuit, land and vacate the runway without pausing or resetting.
Before connecting, learn how to read the airport information, select the correct frequency, follow controller instructions and avoid entering an active runway without clearance. Choose a quiet airport on a server available to your account or grade; a busy hub is a poor classroom. After circuits are consistent, add a simple flight plan and navigation, then move to faster aircraft and airline procedures.
