In Train Sim World 6 and its compatible back catalogue, there is no official Australian route, locomotive or multiple-unit add-on. Sydney Trains, Melbourne suburban stock, V/Line, Queensland Rail and Australian heavy-haul operations are therefore not driveable as native TSW content. Community repaints can mimic a livery, but they cannot supply an authentic route or train.
What official Australian content is available?
No Australian route or rolling-stock DLC had been released for Train Sim World through Train Sim World 6. Australia is absent from the represented regions in our country-by-country overview of official TSW routes.

Australia is not a single standardised railway system. Gauge, electrification, signalling and train protection vary between states and corridors, so reproducing an operator accurately requires far more than placing its colours on a British, German or American train.
Can Creators Club add Australian trains?
An Australian livery can make an existing TSW vehicle look broadly familiar, but it does not create an Australian train. The underlying 3D model, cab, traction behaviour, sounds, passenger interior and safety systems remain those of the original vehicle.
You also need the parent route or locomotive add-on used by the repaint. Availability can depend on platform and content ownership, and branding may be fictional or altered. A common mistake we see is treating a livery download as a complete locomotive; it is only a skin for stock already installed.
PC Editor projects can go further by creating scenery, routes and gameplay, but completion and distribution vary. Console players cannot install loose PC mod packages, while an announced or unfinished community project should not be counted as an available Australian route.
Why do searches show Australian train simulator add-ons?
Australian search results often refer to a different simulator rather than Train Sim World. Train Simulator Classic, Trainz and Train Sim World are separate products, and their routes, locomotives and file formats are not interchangeable.
- Check the full simulator name. A product labelled only for Train Simulator commonly means Train Simulator Classic, not Train Sim World.
- Identify the content type. Confirm whether it is a complete route, rolling-stock add-on, repaint, scenario or unfinished editor project.
- Read the dependencies. Repaints and scenarios normally require specific base DLC.
- Confirm the platform. Community PC files cannot normally be installed on PlayStation or Xbox.
- Verify the represented railway. Australian colours on foreign stock do not provide the correct gauge, cab, sounds or operating systems.
Which Train Sim World routes are the closest alternatives?
No existing TSW route reproduces Australian railway operation, so choose an alternative by service type rather than geography. UK and European routes offer intensive commuter driving, while US routes are the more natural choice for long, heavy freight work.
- Urban and suburban passenger work: choose a route with frequent stations, dense timetables and electric multiple units.
- Regional diesel operation: look for a mixed-traffic route with manual braking and longer station spacing.
- Heavy haul: choose a US freight route with long consists and sustained gradient management.
