Instrument coverage and runway layout

Battle Mountain has two almost identically sized runway alignments, each about 7,300 ft long, so substantial runway length is available on either axis. Instrument coverage is narrower: three approaches serve only two of the four runway ends. Two use RNAV (GPS), while the VOR procedure provides the sole non-GPS option. The airport diagram also covers the two 60 ft concrete helipads alongside the runway layout.

Nearby and VFR chart coverage

Chart coverage at the neighbouring fields is closely matched rather than markedly thinner: Winnemucca Municipal has seven published charts, while Elko Regional has six, the same total as Battle Mountain. The Klamath Falls and Salt Lake City sectionals add the broader VFR context not contained in the terminal procedure set.
