From the Pacific to the Great Basin

From the northern California and Oregon coast to the high desert of Nevada and western Idaho, the Klamath Falls sheet spans an unusually varied slice of the western United States. Its western side includes Pacific shoreline and coastal ranges before the ground rises through the Klamath and Siskiyou country. Farther east, the Cascades and volcanic uplands give way to broad interior basins, desert plateaux and isolated mountain ranges. This makes the chart particularly relevant to routes crossing between coastal, mountainous and inland terrain.

Connections with adjoining sheets

The chart sits between several major western sheets. San Francisco continues coverage to the south, while Seattle takes over to the north. Eastbound routes may pass onto Salt Lake City; crossings near the south-eastern corner lead towards Las Vegas, and those near the north-eastern corner towards Great Falls. These joins support longer routes through northern California, Oregon, Nevada and Idaho without treating the Klamath Falls area as a self-contained region.

Common questions

What area does the Klamath Falls Sectional Chart cover?

It spans 39.8°N to 44.6°N and 126.2°W to 116.6°W. Airports on the sheet fall within California, Idaho, Nevada and Oregon. The full list of public-use airports within its coverage is on this page.

Should I download the GeoTIFF or the PDF?

Take the GeoTIFF if you are loading the chart into moving-map software or a flight planner — it is georeferenced, so the software can place it correctly on a map, and it ships with a world file and FGDC metadata at 300 dpi (81.1 MB). Take the PDF to print it or read it on a second screen (163.2 MB); it is the same chart without georeferencing.

Is this the current Klamath Falls chart?

This is the FAA edition effective 9 July 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. Visual charts are reissued every 56 days and we publish each new edition on the day it takes effect. It is for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.

Which charts adjoin the Klamath Falls sheet?

San Francisco to the south, Salt Lake City to the east, Seattle to the north, Las Vegas to the south-east and Great Falls to the north-east. Each is linked from this page, so a route running off one edge can be continued on the next sheet.

Is the Klamath Falls Sectional Chart free to download?

Yes, with no account required. FAA charts are United States Government works and are not subject to copyright protection in the US under 17 U.S.C. § 105. Guest downloads are speed-capped, so a sheet this size takes a while; PRO members download at full line speed and can take the whole family as one archive.
