Approach and runway coverage

Hector International’s instrument procedures serve four of its six runway ends. The mix of ILS, localiser, RNAV (GPS) and VOR procedures provides both ground-based and satellite-based approach coverage, rather than relying on a single system. Its three runways also offer distinctly different available lengths: 9,001 ft on 18/36, 6,302 ft on 09/27 and 3,801 ft on 13/31, making runway choice materially significant for aircraft requiring more distance.

Local chart context

Nearby procedure coverage is much thinner. Moorhead Municipal/Florence Klingensmith Field has the broadest neighbouring set with four charts; the remaining listed fields have only two or three each. The Twin Cities Sectional adds the wider VFR context around Fargo that the airport-specific instrument procedures do not show.
