DTL’s three approaches cover only two of its four runway ends, leaving half the ends without their own published procedure. The mix of two RNAV (GPS) approaches and one VOR approach provides both satellite-based and VOR procedure types within a compact chart set. The runway choices are sharply unequal: the 5,201 ft asphalt runway offers substantially more take-off and landing distance than the 1,890 ft turf runway.
Park Rapids has the same number of published charts as DTL. Mahnomen County and Moorhead each have one fewer, while Perham and Hawley have the thinnest nearby sets, with two fewer charts apiece. The Twin Cities Sectional supplies the broader VFR context around Detroit Lakes that the terminal procedures do not show.
