Go PROCentred on Minneapolis–Saint Paul, this sheet stretches west across Minnesota and much of the Dakotas, north to the Canadian border, and east into western Wisconsin. Its eastern side combines the Upper Mississippi corridor with wooded, lake-rich country, while the landscape opens into broad agricultural plains and prairie farther west. The western portion also reaches the Missouri River country and the northern edge of the Black Hills region, giving the sheet a marked transition from lake country to drier, more open terrain.
The Twin Cities sheet meets Billings to the west and Green Bay to the east. Routes continuing south pass onto Omaha, while the lower corners connect with Cheyenne to the south-west and Chicago to the south-east. That arrangement makes the chart a central link for journeys crossing the northern United States, particularly those running between the Great Lakes region and the interior plains.
