Approach coverage and runways

Independence Municipal combines three approach plates serving two runway ends, with ILS and localiser options alongside two RNAV (GPS) procedures. This provides both ground-based and satellite-based approach coverage, although it is concentrated on only half of the airport’s four runway ends. The 5,501 ft Runway 17/35 offers substantially more available length than the 3,402 ft Runway 04/22, while the two alignments provide distinct runway directions.

Nearby chart coverage

Bartlesville Municipal has an equally broad chart set, while Coffeyville Municipal and Tri-City are somewhat thinner. Neodesha Municipal has the sparsest nearby coverage listed. The Kansas City Sectional adds the wider visual-navigation context around Independence that the terminal procedure charts do not show.
