Instrument coverage

Both published approaches serve the same runway end: one uses RNAV (GPS) and the other VOR guidance. The other three ends have no published instrument approach, so the choice of procedure does not provide a different arrival alignment. The two runways offer distinct alignments with only 202 ft between their lengths; changing alignment therefore gives up little available runway distance, although 01/19 provides the maximum.

Surrounding chart coverage

Among nearby fields, Dillant/Hopkins has a slightly broader chart set, while Jaffrey Airfield Silver Ranch matches Orange’s total. Gardner Municipal, Northampton and especially Turners Falls have thinner published coverage. The New York Sectional and Boston Terminal Area Chart add VFR context beyond the procedure-specific instrument sheets.

Common questions about KORE

What charts are available for KORE?

4 current FAA charts for Orange Muni, including 2 instrument approachs. All are free to download as PDFs from this page, from the 6 August 2026 cycle.

What are the radio frequencies for KORE?

CTAF 122.8. Full civil VHF list, with sector notes, is in the frequencies table on this page — from the FAA NASR subscription.

How long is the runway at KORE?

Orange Muni has 2 runways. The longest is 01/19 at 5,002 ft by 75 ft, asphalt. Full runway dimensions, lighting and approach aids are listed on this page.

Does KORE have an ILS approach?

No ILS is published. In total KORE has 2 published instrument approaches, of which 1 are RNAV (GPS).

Which runway do instrument approaches serve at KORE?

Every published approach serves one runway end. There is no instrument procedure to the reciprocal direction, so an arrival in instrument conditions commits to that single approach direction regardless of the wind.

Is KORE a towered airport?

No — Orange Muni has no control tower. Traffic co-ordinates on a common frequency rather than with a controller, which is listed in the frequencies table on this page.

Are these KORE charts current?

They are from the FAA cycle effective 6 August 2026, which is superseded on 3 September 2026. We publish each new cycle on its effective date. They are for flight simulation and reference only — not for real-world navigation.
