Approach coverage

Southwest Oregon Regional’s five published approaches all serve a single runway end, concentrating instrument arrivals on one of the field’s four ends. The mix includes ILS, localiser, RNAV (GPS), VOR and helicopter procedures, so that concentration is notable despite the variety of guidance represented. Roseburg Regional, 40 nm east, has much thinner published procedure coverage.

Runways and visual context

The two asphalt runways provide two alignments, but their lengths differ by 1,510 ft. An aircraft requiring more than 4,470 ft would be limited by runway length to 05/23, while anything requiring more than 5,980 ft exceeds both published lengths. The Klamath Falls Sectional adds broader visual-reference and surrounding aeronautical context not supplied by the airport diagram and terminal procedures.
