Instrument coverage

Tri-Cities has approaches to four of its six runway ends, so instrument coverage is broad but incomplete across the three-runway layout. RNAV (GPS) forms the backbone of the set, supplemented by ILS, localiser and VOR procedures. This provides more procedural variety than a GPS-only collection while leaving two runway ends without a published approach.

Runways and surrounding coverage

The 7,707 ft 03L/21R and 7,704 ft 12/30 provide virtually equal long-runway options on different alignments; the parallel 4,423 ft 03R/21L imposes a much tighter length constraint. Among nearby fields, Pendleton and Walla Walla have the broadest chart coverage after Tri-Cities, Richland is somewhat thinner, and Hermiston and Lexington thinner again. The Seattle Sectional adds wider VFR context beyond the airport-focused terminal procedures.
