Richland’s two nearly equal 4,000 ft runways provide four runway ends, but the five published approaches serve only two of them. The mix of three RNAV (GPS) procedures, one VOR and one localiser approach gives more than one form of instrument guidance while leaving the reciprocal ends without published approaches. As the runway lengths differ by only eight feet, changing alignment offers no meaningful gain in available length.
Tri-Cities has the broadest nearby procedure set, with more than twice Richland’s chart coverage. Pendleton and Walla Walla each have moderately larger collections, while Hermiston and Lexington are much thinner. The Seattle Sectional complements Richland’s approach material with the broader visual and geographical context not provided by the terminal procedures.
