Placerville’s instrument provision is concentrated on a single RNAV (GPS) approach serving only one end of runway 05/23. The reciprocal end therefore has no published instrument approach, while ground layout is not covered by a published FAA airport diagram. The 3,914 ft runway cannot meet any take-off or landing requirement above that length; the separate 50 ft helipad provides no second aeroplane runway.
Sacramento Mather has distinctly broader chart coverage than Placerville. Auburn Municipal and Lincoln Regional/Karl Harder Field are only modestly broader, while Westover Field Amador County and Mc Clellan Airfield have similarly thin sets. The San Francisco Sectional adds wider VFR context and the relationship to surrounding airports beyond the single instrument procedure.
