Approach and runway coverage

At New York Stewart, all four runway ends are served by published approaches. The mix of ILS, RNAV (GPS) and localiser procedures provides several forms of instrument guidance rather than concentrating coverage on one alignment. Runway 09/27 is nearly twice the length of 16/34, so changing alignment can almost halve the runway distance available; the airport diagram is therefore useful when comparing the two runways.

Regional chart context

Hudson Valley Regional, with 11 charts, comes closest to SWF’s breadth of procedure coverage, followed by Orange County with eight. Randall, Wurtsboro/Sullivan County and Joseph Y Resnick have much thinner sets, at only two or three charts each. The New York Sectional adds wider visual-navigation context around SWF beyond the airport-specific terminal procedures.
