Eielson AFB’s instrument coverage is balanced across both ends of Runway 14/32 rather than favouring one direction. Three ILS and three localiser procedures provide ground-based guidance, while two RNAV (GPS) approaches add satellite-based options. The 14,530 ft concrete runway provides substantial take-off and landing distance, but the single-runway layout offers no alternative alignment.
Fairbanks International has a similarly broad procedure set nearby, while Ladd AAF and Nenana Municipal have much thinner coverage. Allen AAF falls between those groups but remains less extensively charted than Eielson. The Dawson and Fairbanks sectional charts add the wider visual-navigation context that the airport diagram, departure procedures and approach plates do not show.
