St Mary’s has three published approaches split between GPS and localiser procedures, but they serve only two of the airport’s four runway ends. Instrument coverage is therefore concentrated rather than available for every runway direction. The 6,008 ft runway is nearly four times the length of the 1,520 ft cross-runway, making it the only one able to accommodate aircraft requiring more than 1,520 ft of runway; both are gravel.
